Snow Days & Updates

Despite it dipping down to -20 the other night it stayed above freezing in the rabbit shed which meant no frozen bottles! Anyhow Only one of the does due this past Wednesday had babies and that was Dawson with 2 + 1 peanut. My first Jersey Wooly litter! They look to be blue tort and smoke pearl (The peanut was a blue point...boo for me) They are the noisiest babies I've ever heard and seeing as they're currently residing in my bedroom... Hopefully they're bucks.

I just finished uploading pictures from the convention onto my website (about time too) seeing as today is a snow day and I had some free time. I have a ton of does due (Starting Dec 23rd-January13) So this past weeks misses aren't to bad.
(Can't wait till spring)

Updates...

Well it's been a slow week...seeing as it's only Wednesday which means Boston is due today, and Starshine and Dawson are due demain (tomorrow) So far Dawson is the only one to actually put fur into a nest, Boston has made a nice hole...without fur and Starshine I don't think is having babies. As for other does, Alaska is due on the 23rd followed by Cicada on January 3rd... Dala, Nicole, and Ice Baby are all due January 11th. So I'll have plenty of babies ready in the New Year.

I have also won Jersey Wooly Breeder Of The Year (DC&BA) with 500+ points, Mini Rex Breeder Of The Year (DRC&BA) with 994(or so) points. Then Youth Breeder Of The Year with 1500+ points. So all in all it was a pretty decent year, (Next year should be better)

I recently tattooed some of my younger rabbits using my clamp tattoo. (Which I personally hate, and I'm pretty sure the newly tattooed rabbits due to.) It was a very messy deal even though no ink was spilled which was great because I really don't want to go out and buy more. Poor little Brom with the tiniest ears of them all was 1 of only 4 who got a 4 lettered tattoo (Ice Baby, Rae-Edzo, and Smoke Baby are the others with DGIB, DGRE, DGSB. Brom recieved BROM)

Sundown X Baba O'Riley. I am extremely impressed with this cross and out of 5 babies I kept 4 (Ice Baby, Smoke Baby, North Of Forty, and Arya) All of which have fur to die for and bodies that will make you drool (I'm not kidding) and I'm sure the little white doe I let go does too (Feedback? Rebecca?) Anyhow, Smoke Baby lead the pack recieving mutiple Reserve Of Breeds as a Jr. I will probably repeat this breeding again sometime next year for some older jr's at convention in Kentucky.

Thats all for now
